Every time Funshine and I ride the tricycle going to Sancho, we pass by this curious sign that does not fail to catch our attention.

It’s a giant chili! You wouldn’t miss it because it’s really eye-catching, especially at night. We didn’t know what it was and we were too timid to go there and ask 😛
Our curiosity finally got the best of us one night. While we were trying to figure out where we were going to have dinner, Funshine suggested: “Let’s check out the one with the giant chili!”
And so we did. Continue reading

Sancho is one of our favorite restaurants in Maginhawa. Even though Funshine and I told ourselves that we wanted to jump from one Maginhawa restaurant to another to sample everything, we just kept on coming back to this tiny place. It’s always filled with people not because the space is too confined, but because families just love to dine here.
Since it is a churreria, we immediately ordered churros! Sancho is quite known for serving this incredibly scrumptious, authentic-tasting traditional Spanish treat (whew, what a mouthful). If you love Dulcinea’s churros, you should definitely try theirs.
Churros Con Chocolate – P 85
Freshly-fried crunchy churros are served with piping hot chocolate that has just the right amount of sweetness. Can you tell that we bears just love their churros? We order it every time! I like it so much that I can’t help but dip my finger into the cup of chocolate after we have already eaten all of the churros. Gross, I know. But it’s that good!
Aside from churros, Sancho also offers other equally mouthwatering foods.
After class, we always look forward to heading to Maghinhawa. If you enjoy trying out different foods, you would definitely have a great time exploring this place. Various restaurants with very interesting themes and equally interesting food selections can be found right next to each other. The prices are quite affordable too!
Here is the first of a series of restaurants in Maginhawa that we visited in the recent months.

154 Maginhawa St., Sikatuna Village, Quezon City
From Philcoa, go to the tricycle terminal near MiniStop and tell the driver to drop you off at the address. The fare is about P19 – P20 for 2 people.
Funshine wanted to try out this cafe because of the positive reviews that it received online. We have been planning for a long time to go to this place, but we did not have the chance because of all the schoolwork that we had to deal with. When we finally go the chance, we headed straight to Black Soup. Too bad that we didn’t get to order a lot because we had to rush 😦 Still, the experience was very much satisfying.
Check out the cool posters and other eye-catching ornaments decorate the walls!
What did we order?
